Jets vs. Raiders Final Score: New York Wins 19-14

The Jets are 1-0 in 2014!

New York defeated the Oakland Raiders today at MetLife Stadium to start 2014 on a high note. The Jets defense in particular dominated. Oakland's only scores came as the result of a short field and the Jets playing prevent defense at the end of the game. The offense posted over 200 yards on the ground and showed the type of ability to sustain drives that has been lacking in recent years.

This was the kind of win the Jets needed to bank. The Raiders probably aren't going to be a very good team. They had  rookie making his first NFL start. They also have a really tough stretch heading forward. A loss here would have been brutal. The Raiders might not have been the greatest test in the world, but these are the games you need to win.
