The New York Jets lost one of their 2014 NFL draftees today as 5th round linebacker Jeremiah George was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars active roster. George was a good prospect out of Iowa State but unfortunately failed to do enough to make it through final cuts. George had good leadership potential, but never really had chance to show his physical attributes on the field.
First and foremost I want to start by saying thank you to the @nyjets for drafting me and bringing me into a first class organization

But I am very pleased to say I am now a JACKSONVILLE JAGUAR!

The Jets currently have 9 players on the practice squad which is one below the maximum of 10 allowed. Prior to the 2014 season, teams were only allowed 8 players on the practice squad, but under the new rules, the Jets will be looking to add another member.
Jacksonville will add George to the active roster per the rules of signing him from a practice squad.
I was pretty happy when we signed George, a player who showcased play-making ability and immense leadership at Iowa State, however unfortunately we didn't have the chance to see any of that. Best of luck to him.
