30 - Darrin Walls, Defensive Pass Interference, 33 yards
91 - Sheldon Richardson, Roughing the Passer, 15 yards
39 - Antonio Allen, Defensive Holding, 5 yards
74 - Nick Mangold, Unnecessary Roughness, 15 yards
86 - David Nelson, Illegal Formation, 5 yards
66 - Willie Colon, False Start, 5 yards
So there we have it, 6 penalties for a grand total of 78 yards. Although you'd want to eradicate as many as possible, I'm not having that penalty on Walls, if anything it was offensive pass interference, how the zebras called that on Walls is beyond me, he had excellent positioning, had his head around and was being bustled.
The roughing the passer call on Sheldon during the touchdown was also a bang-bang play, he's coming towards Cutler who has the ball in his hands and then as soon as he lets go, you can see Sheldon try to pull up and it's tough to stop the momentum when you're his size.
Overall though, it wasn't a bad effort. I did see Winters holding a couple of times but he seemed to get away with it. The game flowed quite well and there were more roughing the passer or unnecessary roughness penalties than I can remember during a game last night.
Our two starting corners are top of the charts costing us 91 yards between them. Sheldon is averaging a penalty a game and Colon is averaging a little more than that.
