The 2014 season opener is just a few days. The Jets will take on the Oakland Raiders this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in a game that actually counts!
Oakland has announced it is starting rookie quarterback Derek Carr. It adds an element of intrigue to the game. Nobody ever knows what to expect when a rookie makes his first career start at the position.
In other news the Jets are tinkering with the bottom of their roster as most teams do in the days between cutdown day and the opener. Just being on the roster after cutdown day does not guarantee a player a roster spot. Some of these players are subsequently cut. There are even players who get signed and then cut after a day or two.
We will have this thread to talk about the Jets as we begin an abbreviated work week. Our Twitter widget below will have the latest news.
