Jets @ Packers: Five Bold Predictions

In the stream of life, I used to be just a small pebble, but now I'm a little bolder.

Jeff Zelevansky

Disclaimer - A Bold Prediction is not something that is likely or probable to happen. Bold Predictions are guesses that are beyond what anyone can reasonably expect to happen, but not so far as to be physically impossible. Saying that Geno Smith is going to throw for 162 yards and one touchdown is not a bold prediction, nor is saying that Chris Johnson will run for 423 yards and eight touchdowns. By definition, Bold Predictions are unlikely, but possible, to occur.  Since this is a Jets site, they are also pro-Jets predictions. As always, the Final Score prediction is meant to be realistic, not a Bold Prediction.

Let's take a quick look at last week's Bold Predictions fiasco before moving on to Sunday's game.  Well, I had the Jets winning.  Other than that I got nothing even close to right.  Closest was this:  Chris Johnson will top 140 yards from scrimmage.  He actually got 91 yards.  Not exactly close, but it's the best I got.  Oh, except for my bonus prediction:  Kyle Wilson will look back.  Lo and behold, Wilson actually did get his head turned around, got two hands on the ball, and nearly got an interception.  Will wonders never cease?

OK, so I may have been bold, but I wasn't very good last week.  Let's see if I can't do better this week.

Here are my five Bold Predictions for Sunday's game:

1.  Demario Davis will notch 2 sacks and at least 8 tackles.

2.  Jeremy Kerley will catch 7 or more passes for 100 or more yards and a TD.

3.  Geno Smith will rush for 50+ yards and generate 300+ yards in total offense, with at least 3 TDs combined rushing and passing.

4.  Chris Ivory will rush for more than 100 yards for the second straight game.  He will not celebrate a TD prematurely.

5.  Calvin Pryor will get an interception, a sack and a forced fumble.  Multiple Packers will get a headache due to Pryor Engagements.

And a bonus prediction:  Tommy Bohannon will make at least one play that you notice and say to yourself, well, at least on that play he didn't suck.

Final Score:  Packers 27, Jets 24.

What are your bold predictions for the game?
