Jets vs. Raiders: Jets Open as 5 Point Favorites

The Jets beat the Raiders 37-27 at the Meadowlands last year in Week 14.

Some years Week 1 is more important than other years. 2014 figures to be a fairly important opener for the Jets. The secondary is a huge question mark. Six consecutive games follow against what are expected to be good passing offenses. They could really use a good start so the unit can build some confidence heading into a series of stiff tests.

Oakland's quarterback situation is currently up in the air. On paper this certainly presents itself as an opportunity for some of the inexperienced guys the Jets will lean on  at the back end of the defense to get their feet wet before things start to get difficult.
