Earlier this morning, I suggested the New York Jets look at CB Leon McFadden from the Cleveland Browns. According to multiple reports, they have done so and claimed him off the waiver wire. McFadden was a third round pick from last year's draft.
Our friends at DawgsByNature aren't big fans of McFadden ("He sucks"), as he struggled when he finally got on the field towards the end of the year last year. McFadden mostly played in the last four games, all of which the Browns lost, so perhaps it isn't surprising he struggled, as the team did so as well. I'll note that McFadden gave up 15 completions on 22 attempts in those four games, according to ProFootballFocus, with no touchdowns allowed.
I don't think anybody will claim McFadden is a silver bullet to the cornerback situation, but when Ellis Lankster is actually in a position where he might have to start on the outside, McFadden is still likely an upgrade.
