The New York Jets Will Not Announce Moves Until Saturday

Don't expect to hear any updates on the bubble players today.

Bubble players like Rontez Miles might not learn their fate until tomorrow.

New York Jets HC Rex Ryan spoke to reporters earlier, and started the conference call by stating that the team will not announce roster news today:

Rex also didn't say what will happen with CB Dimitri Patterson, as he has not even spoken to him yet.

Dimitri made a statement yesterday essentially saying that Rex and GM John Idzik were lying when they said that Patterson had gone AWOL prior to last week's game.  Patterson is suspended until Monday, and if I remember correctly, that would make him exempt from the 53-man list, giving the team some flexibility with the roster.  My guess is that they won't actually cut him until they can add another cornerback they like, and I'm sure they are also exploring how to recoup as much money as they can.

Speaking of cornerbacks, Ryan also said he was not sure when CB Dee Milliner will return.

I'm guessing even when they do know for sure he would be playing, the team won't announce it until they are required to do so before game time.  Until then, we'll see if and how much he practices.

Likewise, Rex had no real update on OLB Antwan Barnes.

Rex mentioned DE Trevor Reilly, DL T.J. Barnes and OL Dalton Freeman, but no player really stood out for him.

Idzik has put a plug on media leaks since taking over the team, so I don't think we'll find out anything until the team or the players themselves announce that they have been cut.  Meanwhile, we can just talk about cheesesteaks or something.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
