Jets Cut 7 Players: Down to 81

The New York Jets have started to trim their roster ahead of the deadline on Tuesday.

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets need to trim their roster down to 75 by 4:00pm EST on Tuesday.

Last night the Jets announced they had cut their roster down to 81. Here are the seven players who were chopped:

K- Andrew Furney

P- Jake Schum

OT - Bruce Campbell

RB - Michael Smith

OG - Patrick Ford

OT - Markus Zusevics

LB - Steele Divitto

No surprises among this group. Bruce Campbell was brought in as cover and Jake Schum has failed to beat out Quigley who has been stuttering all pre-season. Steele Divitto was a UDFA out of Boston College but hasn't done enough to survive the first cuts.

The Jets still need to make six cuts before Tuesday's deadline. Dexter McDougle and Shaq Evans do not count towards the 81, as they are both on IR for the rest of the season.
