Nick Mangold Battling Toe Ailment

Nick Mangold was out of practice today with an injured toe.

When you look at the resumes of the starters and backups on this roster, the biggest dropoff would probably occur if the Jets lost either Mangold or D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Both of these guys are exceedingly durable and as tough as they come so I do not have a ton of concern about Nick. Since we are only in preseason, it makes all the sense in the world to treat this conservatively so that he can be healthy for Week 1.

I would not count on missing practice being detrimental to a guy like Mangold. In some ways it creates an opportunity for less experienced guys to get some practice working with the first team offensive line.
