Jets Sign LeQuan Lewis

Dave Sandford

The Jets have signed LeQuan Lewis, a cornerback.

Lewis had most recently been a member of the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts. An undrafted free agent out of Arizona State in 2011, Lewis has at one point been a member of eight different NFL teams. That includes brief stints with the Jets in 2012 in which he was waived or released three different times. He has been active for eight career games, five with the Bucs, and three with the Cowboys.

This is the epitome of signing a camp body at a position where bodies are needed due to injury. There just are not impact players available at this point capable of helping the Jets. Maybe one will shake free later in camp, but until then Lewis is the latest addition to the team.
