Calvin Pryor Returns to Practice Without Contact

Rich Schultz

Jets rookie safety Calvin Pryor was back in the lineup today after suffering a concussion over the weekend. He was, however, wearing the red jersey that signifies no contact for a player.

In any event, it is a good thing he is back. Now he has to play catch up after missing several practices. The roles of a safety vary greatly in this defense so Pryor has a lot to learn in a little bit of time.

The presence of last year's Week 1 safety duo, Dawan Landry and Antonio Allen, probably means the Jets can ease Pryor back if they need to go in that route, but the Jets picked the Louisville product because they wanted more impact at the position so the more he can do quickly, the better.
