Dexter McDougle Suffers Groin Injury

Rich Schultz

Third round rookie cornerback Dexter McDougle had to leave practice today after sustaining a groin injury.

McDougle has been getting some reps with the first team defense during training camp, although reports suggest he has struggled in those opportunities, hardly surprising stuff for a rookie at the position. It isn't clear that McDougle is going to make much of an impact as a rookie so these camp reps are going to be a relatively important chance for him to learn and improve. Hopefully he can get back on the field soon as the learning curve is steep.

There must be some kind of black cloud over this rookie class in Cortland. The top three picks the Jets made in the Draft have now all sustained injuries that havecost them practice time in camp.
