What did the quarterback picture look like on the first day of practice?

Of course these stats paint a very incomplete picture. They don't tell the story of yardage, and with this few reps, they can be skewed heavily by things out of the quarterback's control such as drops and bad routes by receivers.
With that said, the buzz does seem to be that Geno Smith had a strong first day.
David Nelson was among many who said so.
David Nelson just said that Geno was the best he's ever seen him today...in all aspects. #NYJ

So it's the kind of start you'd want to hear from Geno. Do keep things in perspective, though. Hearing about how everything is different this year for the better for the young quarterback has become something of a Cortland tradition. We will need to see much more.
