Jets Creating Rewards Program for Ticket Holders

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Seth Walder reports on a new concept the Jets are instituting for fans with season tickets.

The full list of rewards has not been released yet, but Super Bowl tickets and traveling to an away game with the team will be offered. Other examples of rewards are autographed photos or watching a game from the owner’s suite.

Some of the higher end rewards will be redeemed through an auction system while others will have a fixed point price.

The way the program is described, it sounds like points are earned for attending games. The program seems rather vague at this point.

This is all nice, but I think it is more important for the Jets to find a way to reach out to fans who cannot go to games because of either distance or price. The greatest concentration of Jets fans are probably on Long Island, a good distance away from the practice facility and the stadium. Games are also very expensive to attend. A lot of people can't afford to go. I understand this is a business, and expensive tickets are just a part of pro sports, but  the team make an effort to get these people greater access to the team through other events.
