Getting your first round pick signed is always a lot easier ever since the rookie wage scale came into affect. However it's always a nice feeling when you finally get it done.
The Jets have officially announced the signing of their first round selection, Louisville safety Calvin Pryor. Pryor has signed the typical four year contract which is worth roughly $8.6 million with a signing bonus of $4.5 million. He will count an estimated $1.6 million against the Jets 2014 salary cap.
This means the Jets have signed 11 of their 12 selections with third round cornerback Dexter McDougle the only player not to sign. I expect that will get done quickly. We can now concentrate on football and the remaining off-season OTA's before we get into the meat of pre-season.
