The situation around Mike Goodson has been resolved. The running back had skipped mandatory training camp the last few days, with no update on where he was or why he didn't show up. The New York Jets have ended the saga and announced on Twitter that he is no longer part of the team.
We have released RB Mike Goodson with the designation left squad.

Goodson was brought on to be a third down back last year, one who could be a home run hitter. The Jets brought him in for 3 years and $6.9 million dollars, but he was never a factor on the field. He was suspended 4 games last year to start the season and only played 2 games for the Jets before suffering a torn ACL and being put on IR. He finished with 7 carries for 61 yards and 2 catches for under 20 yards.
Off the field there were also issues. In May 2013 he was arrested. As a result he was suspended 4 games by the NFL. In October 2013, he was indicted on charges stemming from that alleged incident including gun charges.
Now Goodson is a Jet no more.
