The first TAN was posted over 2 years ago, on feburary 14th 2012. I was bothering Bro (he's called something else now, i think) about having a thread on the site like they had on BattleRedBlog and other sites. I think i erased the first of this type of thread for reasons i don't remember, probably was dabu's fault.
The name was suggested i believe by dvdvil

The thread started off pretty slowly. The first Tan consisted mainly of talf of cockaroaches and Jermey Lin. we didn't really think it was going to run

Well its also a deadzone for football in general.
And it can’t just be instantly successful in a deadzone such as this. No need for the concept to die but perhaps it wasn’t birthed at the right time.

It took us a while to get ours going regularly in the beginning. It was just a random occurrence at first before it became a regular thing. Also, you may have picked a bad time of the year to start it. I think ours really started taking off when the Colts were poised to make their SB run a few years ago and there were a lot of people around just wanting to engage in some off-topic chatter. Maybe the upcoming draft will provide some general conversation as we get closer to the time. Keep it up, though. This thread still has more comments than any other fanpost that’s up right now. You can’t expect to start off getting hundreds of comments a day until it has a chance to catch on a bit more.

4.Doesn’t talk with inflection in voice of confused/drunk 17 year old SoCal girl.Laughing at my dumb jokes is negotiable. #’s 2-4 are negotiable too.

The colt fans left, more bronco fans came, an irish guy did #17, Green Beer/CeverzeVerde left (or did he?).We had good songs being the tittle of the thread. Other things got started. I left. Dabu took over. Then something happened. Then Bro somehow took it. Then i came back. The craziet username ever to post a TAN.Then something almost happened. We were taken over by cats, dabu got married, i came back again, every old mod besides me became a writer (woah i said that out loud?), and did i miss anything else? Definitely talk about them below if you want, you don't have to. Honestly, i didn't think we'd reach 100. It seems like such a long time ago. But seriously, i want to thank everyone for commenting during the last couple of years, obviously the thread wouldn't run with out you guys. Most of us come to sites like these, do to an obsession or something or something very close to that with sports. It's nice to talk about other things once or in this case many, many whiles. Here's to another 100.
