Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly favors expanding the NFL Playoffs.
Jets owner Woody Johnson prefers playoff expansion, but says timing must be right. Still some logistical issues to work through.

Adding more teams to the Playoffs is a lousy idea. The current setup is perfect. Adding two extra spots is going to mean more mediocre teams will make it.
Over the next few years this is likely to happen, however. There is a lot of money for the league to make from the two extra postseason games. It goes beyond the obvious. Two extra teams means two extra Playoff games. There are no television rights. Could the NFL stick one of them on NFL Network? This might be a way to force the hand of holdout cable companies that do not carry the channel. Like it or not there are probably going to be extra teams.
