As we get ready for rookie minicamp and off-season OTA's we'll likely see a lot of movement on the roster. However most of that movement will be on the back-end and won't really affect the team heading into the bulk of the pre-season preparations.

In that vain, the organization today announced they they had released defensive back Nick Taylor.

The 5-10, 190lb corner missed the entire 2013 season after suffering a serious shoulder injury. He was signed by the Jets to a reserve/future contract in January. Taylor was a FIU point guard on the basketball team and only played one year of football, in high school. He never played any college football however because of his raw athleticism he was working out in camp for the Vikings before he injured his shoulder.

I don't really follow college basketball, so I'm not sure how good Nick Taylor was. However he did clock a 4.27 in the 40 yard dash at his pro day last year. He also looked good in positional drills and after holding a private workout with the Vikings he was signed immediately.

Hopefully he is fully recovered from his shoulder injury and he catches on somewhere else. I wouldn't bet against him making a return to the Jets in the future either, cuts and signings happen so frequently during the pre-season.
