Jets Take Trevor Reilly With 231st Pick in 2014 NFL Draft

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets used their seventh round pick, the final of their twelve selections in the 2014 NFL Draft on Utah outside linebacker Trevor Reilly.

After not selecting an edge rusher until the sixth round of Rex Ryan's sixth Draft, the Jets doubled up at the very end. Reilly profiles as a speed rusher without many well defined power or counter moves. If he can play himself onto the roster, he might push out Antwan Barnes and earn some playing time as a situational pass rusher. He will have to prove himself just to make the final roster, however. One thing working against him might be his age. Even though he was productive in college, at 26 his body was more developed than his competition. He might not have very much room to grow as he is likely already close to his physical peak.

Reilly posted 9.5 sacks for the Utes in his final college season.
