The Jets double dip at wide receiver in the fourth round and add a pass catcher named Evans. No, it wasn't Mike Evans After taking Jalen Saunders, Gang Green added UCLA wide receiver Shaquelle Evans with the 114th pick.
Evans is an interesting prospect. He has the tools to be a really good starting receiver in the NFL. He's big. He's pretty good at using his frame effectively. He isn't terribly raw as a route runner. I think he also has some deceptive speed. He's also plagued by inconsistency, and that's why he fell into the fourth round. Now that we're in the fourth round, I find myself liking this pick.
Selecting the Big Aristotle presumably puts Stephen Hill's starting job and roster spot in peril.
The Jets have now added Evans, Saunders, Jace Amaro, Eric Decker, and Chris Johnson to their stable of weapons this offseason.
Still plenty of picks to go today.
