Manish Mehta confirms the reports and provides further details.
It's a three-year deal for Jets TE Jeff Cumberland, per source. #NYJ believes he will take that next step in 2014.

Cumberland is a fairly limited guy. He's a big target and pretty fast and athletic. He can be effective as a receiver on limited routes. He doesn't utilize his speed or size enough to make a big difference.
The Jets probably would not be well-advised to bring Cumberland back as a starter. As a backup role player he isn't a great option, but you can live with it as long as the deal is cheap.
