Yesterday, Brian Orakpo received a franchise tag from the Washington Redskins. Today, Jason Worilds accepted his transition tag from the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a result, both outside linebackers are off the market. Those two players were the best available and leave a thin outside linebacker market. Unfortunately, it makes Calvin Pace a real likelihood. With Worilds signed by the Steelers, they may be cutting Lamarr Woodley.
I think the New York Jets might finally be forced to draft someone at the position, something they haven't done under Rex Ryan, but maybe John Idzik will finally recognize how big a weakness the position is for the team. Ryan's system mostly focuses on pressure up the middle, rather than off the edge, but continually trotting Pace out there is going to bite the team in the behind sooner rather than later. What are your thoughts about how Idzik should shore up the position?
