A pair of veterans visited Florham Park today.
In addition to veteran cornerback Dmitri Patterson, whose visit we told you about earlier, the Jets also hosted a pair of career backups, according to multiple reports: wide receiver Jacoby Ford and offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger.
A league source did confirm to NJ.com that Ford's visit would continue into Tuesday.
Both players are likely being pursued to provide depth.
Ford has blazing speed, timed in the 4.2 range. I'd imagine he would slide into a Josh Cribbs type of role. In the league since 2010, he only has 57 receptions. He does have four kickoff returns for touchdowns in his career so he would be looking at a return man/get him the ball in space/gadget presence.
Ohrnberger would likely be counted on to provide depth, hopefully some insurance for Willie Colon, and perhaps push Brian Winters.
What are your thoughts on these potential signings?
