DeSean Jackson Has Been Cut

The wide receiver known as DeSean Jackson has been cut by the Philadelphia Eagles. He is now a free agent, and the New York Jets may pursue him as such.

This comes hot on the heels of a story out from the Star-Ledger today which indicates that DeSean Jackson may have gang ties, and that's why the Philadelphia Eagles cut him. The article focuses on the fact that Jackson knows a guy who may have committed a murder, but hasn't been convicted of anything. Of course, it ignores the fact that the Eagles gave Jackson a MASSIVE contract extension the year AFTER finding out about these connections, but what the heck. Let's speculate anyway.

Now that Jackson has been cut, the Jets will presumably make an effort to sign him. Assuming John Idzik does his due diligence and finds nothing awful, I hope they do.
