An interesting note from Rich Cimini this evening:
Jets still interested in free agent CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. I also hear Antonio Cromartie wants to return. #NYJ

This really is a massive deal for the Jets. I wrote about DRC and his problems in the past. However I really want him as a Jet. Rex loves his corners to be physical and DRC has shown he is just that, add in crazy athleticism and he is a match made in heaven for the Jets.
DRC is meeting with the Giants today, however after they signed Walter Thurmond, it became less likely they would break the bank for DRC. They have very little cap to work with, if they really wanted to get the deal done....they could do it. However everyone here wants to see us pull this one out, as long as the guaranteed money isn't crazy.
If we can't land DRC, then Antonio Cromartie would be my choice to return for sure. He was suffering with a hip injury the entirety of last season and that slowed him down to the point where he was one of the worst corners in the league.
However apparently he is fully healthy again and interested in signing with the Jets. The corner will be 30 next month, however in 2012 he allowed just a 46% completion percentage into his coverage and was one of the better corners in the league. So if we can't get DRC, I'd rather go into the season with Antonio than not.
