Nick Bellore Gets Low Tender

Dale Zanine-US PRESSWIRE

The Jets have offered restricted free agent Nick Bellore the lowest tender offer.

If you are not familiar with this, the Jets offered Bellore a one year contract worth $1.4 million. Bellore is free to seek offers with another team, but the Jets have the option to match any offer another team makes and retain Bellore. If another team makes an offer the Jets decide not to match, they would lose Bellore and receive nothing in return because they offered the low tender.

Bellore is a good special teamer. $1.4 million is a lot for a guy who only plays special teams, but I don't have a problem giving him another year to contribute there and hopefully develop into something a little more as a player in the NFL.
