Jets Offseason Rumors: Team Interested in Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders

USA TODAY Sports

The Daily News says the Jets are very interested in Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, both of whom are set to become free agents.

The Daily News has learned that the Jets covet free agent wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Emmanuel Sanders with the hope that one or both can help revamp the league's 31st-ranked passing offense from last season.

These are definitely two guys to keep an eye on. They both would be big upgrades, and neither figures to cost an arm and a leg. Maclin missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL in training camp, but he never had less than 56 catches or 773 yards in his first four seasons. Sanders has experience working in the slot and outside. He had his role upgraded with the departure of Mike Wallace and set career highs with 67 catches, 740 yards, and 6 touchdowns in 2013.

Neither would be the gamebreaker the team needs, but adding Maclin and Sanders to the team along with Jeremy Kerley would make this receiving corps functional. Functional would be a sizable upgrade.
