Chris Pantale: 2013 and Beyond

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Tight end Chris Pantale was an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. He spent the bulk of the season on the practice squad. He was called up to the roster near the end of November, but he never was active on game day.

There is not a ton that makes Pantale stand out. Some back of the roster projects have something about their measurables that blow you away. Pantale is 6'5" and 254 pounds. His 40 time was in the 4.9-5.0 range.

He was a solid blocker in college so it is somewhat conceivable he could develop into a useful part in the NFL, but the odds seem very stacked against him. The Jets saw enough in him to bring him in and to promote him during the year. Perhaps that means something. Probably not, but the team could bring him to training camp next year and see whether he gets better over the offseason.

If you have strong feelings about Pantale, I'm guessing you are a member of the Pantale family.
