Ravens Shut Down Miami Dolphins

It's our weekly summary of our friendly AFC East Rivals. The Dolphins dropped a game in the quest for a wildcard spot.

The Dolphins dropped to 7-6 on the season with a loss to AFC Wild Card rivals the Baltimore Ravens. In a game that could have vaulted Miami into the hunt for a play-off berth, they now find themselves on the outside looking in. If the season ended today the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers would be your wildcard teams in the AFC but there is still a lot of football to be played.

Miami's inability to force the ball downfield would again come to haunt them as Ryan Tannehill was sacked 5 times and he failed to trust his receivers to make the difficult catches. Miami averaged just 4.5 yards per offensive play and the pass rush that was so evident earlier this season failed to show up as Joe Flacco was sacked on only one occasion and had time to find is 2nd and 3rd reads on numerous occasions.

Baltimore put on a clinic with an 80% efficiency rating in the redzone, that included touchdowns to Steve Smith and 2nd year receiver Kamar Aiken. Justin Forsett tacked on another touchdown with 71 yards on his way to 71 yards rushing and Joe Flacco used his legs to score the 4th and final touichdown.

Baltimore look odds on to make the post-season with games remaining against the Jaguards, Texans and Browns while the Dolphins are on the ouside looking in, although they do have the Vikings and Jets still to play, along with the New England Patriots
