Packers vs. Falcons Open Thread

A clash of two first place teams which looks like a mismatch on paper.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Monday Night Football 2014, week 14. Tonight we have the Falcons visiting the Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers come into this game tied for the best record in the NFL at 9-3. They are coming off an emotional and hard fought victory over the Patriots last week in what could have been a Super Bowl preview. The Packers are led by all world quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has the best career QB rating of all time, and it isn't really close. They are looking to keep their current lead over the Lions for the NFC North division title, as well as vying for a number one seed and home field throughout the playoffs.

The Falcons come into this game with a poor 5-7 record, yet they are tied for first place in the sad sack NFC South division. The Falcons are led by star quarterback Matt Ryan, having another good year, and standout wide receiver Julio Jones. With the Packers and the Falcons both looking to keep atop their respective divisions this one has serious playoff implications. However, at Lambeau Field, against a quarterback who is beginning to state his case for the GOAT, playing as well as he has at any time in his illustrious career, this game has the earmarks of a blowout Green Bay win.
