Once again for the 2014 New York Jets, the secondary was at the center of a loss. Jarius Wright's 87 yard touchdown catch, mainly a long run after a short reception, sealed yet another loss from Gang Green today in Minnesota as the Vikings defeated the Jets 30-24 in overtime. It was Minnesota's third touchdown of the game that resulted from a completion gaining over 20 yards. Teddy Bridgewater went over the 300 yard mark on the last throw of the game.
It spoiled a solid albeit uneven effort out of Geno Smith, a big bounceback game from Nick Folk, and a gutty three sack effort by Sheldon Richardson. Reentering the game after a second half injury, the big lineman gave a complete effort trying to chase down Wright despite running on a bad wheel.
The team played hard. The team just isn't very good.
Only three games remain. Discuss the loss below.
