Which NFL Division Is Toughest?

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Marshall Faulk wants to know the toughest division in the league this week.

I'll go out on a limb and say we can immediately eliminate the NFC South from the discussion. Four divisions have at least three teams sporting a winning record, and in the AFC North all four are.

I think I would go with the NFC West, though. Hear me out. Arizona leads the division and currently holds the top spot. This is no flash in the pan team. They won 10 games last year. Seattle is the second team with a winning record. The Seahawks are only the defending Super Bowl Champion. San Francisco is the third team. The Niners have been in the final four three straight seasons. I think I'd take this sustainable success over the AFC North since it isn't clear whether Cleveland is built for the long haul or that Cincinnati can finally get over the hump.
