Adam Schefter has four names in addition to Dan Quinn with whom the Jets have requested interviews as part of their head coaching search.

Once you get past Bowles and Quinn, this seems like a pretty underwhelming crop of candidates.
Kubiak made the Playoffs twice in eight seasons as Texans head coach.
Cable had a 17-27 record in three years as the head coach of the Raiders. Given what happened in the NFL this season, we also do have to note Cable has been accused by more than one woman of domestic violence in his past. He also was accused of breaking an assistant coach's jaw with a punch as head coach of the Raiders. This would be something the Jets would have to deal with.
Reich is a former Jets quarterback. He has been an assistant coach in the NFL since 2008. In 2013 he took over as San Diego's quarterbacks coach as Philip Rivers had a renaissance season. He was promoted to offensive coordinator this year. He might be worth a look.
This does show why hiring an offensive mind isn't necessarily a necessity, though. Of these five candidates, the two strongest are the defensive guys.
