Click here for a retrospective on Rex Ryan's years with the Jets.
There have been rumblings for months. They got louder and louder over the last week. Last night reports made it clear this was coming. Now the Jets have made it official. General manager John Idzik and head coach Rex Ryan have been fired by the team.
This morning Woody Johnson informed John Idzik and Rex Ryan that they will not be returning to the team in 2015.

Ryan lasted six seasons as head coach. His stint included two trips to the AFC Championship Game in his first two years but no postseason berths in his last four.
Idzik only lasted two seasons, but his personnel moves were widely ineffective to the point he lost the support of the fanbase in almost record time. There will be no Bradway type new role in the organization.
This was the easy part. The Jets needed to make a change. Now comes the difficult part, finding the right replacements.
