The Jets have named Geno Smith their starting quarterback Monday against the Dolphins.
QB Update: Rex met with Geno Smith & Mike Vick this morning and told the QBs that Geno will get the start vs. MIA on Monday Night.

At this point it probably doesn't matter, but it is tough to see anything being gained by the Jets going back to Geno Smith at this point. Vick was miserable against the Bills in Detroit. It took that one game for him to be benched. It took Geno a year and a half of play like that to get benched.
It also puts Geno in a less than ideal situation since the few fans who show up Monday might give the quarterback a hostile reception.
I'm sure people will talk about getting the young player reps, but Geno Smith should not be part of the plans for the future.
Ultimately, though, it doesn't make a huge difference. The season is long lost.
