Monday Night Football 2014, week 11. Tonight we have the Steelers visiting the Titans at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The Steelers come into this game with a 6-4 record, only a half game out of first place in a hyper competitive AFC North, where every team has six wins, every team is at least 2 games over .500, and no team is more than a half game out of first place. A win tonight gives the Steelers a share of first place.
The Titans come into the game with a record of 2-7, losers of seven of eight, with their only win in that stretch coming against the lowly Jaguars. The Titans are already on their third starting quarterback of the season, currently playing rookie Zach Mettenberger at the position. Mettenberger is going through the usual rookie struggles, with three touchdown passes, three interceptions and a passer rating of 78 in three games. The Steelers feature one of the NFL's best offenses and borderline Hall of Fame quarterback Ben Roethlisberger enjoying perhaps his finest season as a pro, along with one of the game's best receivers in Antonio Brown and dynamic tailback Le'Veon Bell. With the Steelers playing for playoff hopes and the Titans playing only for pride, this looks like a mismatch on paper. But the Steelers have struggled mightily on the road and against the worst NFL teams, so this one might be closer than you'd otherwise expect. Enjoy the game, enjoy football under the lights.
