The Jets are at risk of their season spiraling out of control. To avoid a 1-4 start all they have to do today is go on the road and beat a Chargers team that looks like one of the NFL's best through the first quarter of the season.
San Diego is the site of two of the Jets' most dramatic and memorable victories of the last decade, Playoff triumphs in 2004 and 2009. A win today would not have that kind of significance, but it might go a long way to getting this train back on the tracks.
