Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson has been named to the AP's All Pro Second Team. He was the only Jet to make the team.
It is a great accomplishment and one richly deserved. A lot people were understandably upset about his Pro Bowl snub, but All Pro voting carries a lot more weight. One of the reasons for that is it is not a joke like the Pro Bowl voting.
Tampa Bay's Gerald McCoy and Detroit's Ndamukong Suh beat Wilkerson out for All Pro First Team honors at defensive tackle. Dontari Poe, Jurrell Casey, and Justin Smith joined him on the Second Team.
Wilkerson finished the 2013 season with 64 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and an interception. He was the first Jet since John Abraham in 2005 to hit the double digit sack mark. He is also the first Jet to make an AP All Pro team since Darrelle Revis in 2011.
