The Jets have officially released punter Robert Malone, the team announced over Twitter this afternoon. While this won't be considered earth-shattering news, this is a very surprising move as Malone has been a solid punter for the Jets since his rookie season last year. In Week 1 against Tampa Bay, Malone's 84-yard punt was the longest in the NFL since the 2002 season.
Ryan Quigley, who was with the Jets in the preseason, has been re-signed.
