New York Jets: Is Anybody Worth Drafting in Fantasy Football?

Jeff Zelevansky

You know the drill by now. Buffalo Wild Wings rocks. Every other food place is awful. Go to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. Then return to read this post.

Now that you're back, let's talk about fantasy football. Our writer Henry Strawder has been doing a great series to get you ready for your fantasy season. Are there any Jets worth taking, though?

If you are the kind of fan who absolutely has to have a high quality Jet on his team, this probably isn't the year for you. My personal advice to you is similar to the advice I gave last year. There isn't really anybody on this team who should go early in your fantasy draft. Chris Ivory has the potential to be a sleeper, but don't be the guy who overdrafts based on potential. Until we know for sure who is starting at quarterback, Geno Smith would be a risky pick. At any rate, a rookie like him should probably be a late round pick, particularly as a developmental guy in a keeper league. Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill are late round backup potential kind of guys.

The defense might be worth a look, but I usually wait until late to take a defense. In your typical league, the difference between the best defense and the tenth or twelfth best isn't great enough to justify going defense until the very end.
