New York Jets Potential 53-Man Roster

Here's my first attempt at projecting the final 53-man roster.

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Quarterback (3): Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez, Greg McElroy

Running Back (5) : Chris Ivory, Mike Goodson, Bilal Powell, Kahlil Bell, Tommy Bohanon

Tight End (3): Kellen Winslow, Jeff Cumberland, Konrad Reuland

Wide Receiver (6): Santonio Holmes, Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley, Clyde Gates, Ben Obomanu, Ryan Spadola

Offensive Line (8): D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Willie Colon, Nick Mangold, Stephen Peterman, Austin Howard, Brian Winters, Vladimir DucasseJason Smith

Defensive Line (7): Kenrick Ellis, Muhammad Wilkerson, Quinton Coples, Antonio Garay, Damon Harrison, Sheldon Richardson, Leger Douzable

Linebacker (8): Antwan Barnes, Nick Bellore, David Harris, Josh Mauga, Garrett McIntyre, Calvin Pace, Ricky Sapp, Demario Davis

Defensive Back (10): Antonio Cromartie, Dee Milliner, Kyle Wilson, Ellis Lankster, Darrin Walls, Isaiah Trufant, Josh Bush, Antonio Allen, Dawan Landry, Jaiquawn Jarrett

Special Teams

Long Snapper (1): Tanner Purdum

Kicker (1): Nick Folk

Punter (1): Robert Malone

Practice Squad (8): Zach Rogers (WR), Hayden Smith (TE), Danny Lansanah (LB), Rontez Miles (DB), Oday Aboushi,(OL), Donnie Fletcher (DB), Will Campbell (OL)

Note: Assuming Goodson comes back, it wouldn't surprise me to see Joe McKnight cut. Bell played very well last week, and Gates can take McKnight's place as a kick returner. Goodson is a similar type of back as McKnight as well, plus he isn't as much of a head case. I also wanted to put Dalton Freeman on the list, but I suspect they may put him on injured reserve.

We'll certainly know a lot more after this weekend, but here's an early prediction. What do you think? Who will or won't make the roster in your mind?
