Amid reports that Santonio Holmes ran routes for Geno Smith before the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Manish Mehta World Peace has reported that John Idzik has stated that Holmes is close to returning to practice, and that he's stated how badly he wants to play again.
Unless Holmes is truly ready to play week one, which I highly doubt, I think it might be best to hold him off until week three, against the Buffalo Bills. The New York Jets play the New England Patriots the week before on Thursday Night Football, so Holmes will have a few extra days to prepare before facing off against the Bills.
What do you think? Will Holmes be ready to start week one?
Special thanks to readers Gibsjets and BoogieDown for the heads up.
