A topic that has flown under the radar is what the New York Jets will do if Santonio Holmes is unable to start the season. He has reportedly said that he is running on a gravity treadmill, which helps support him so he doesn't have to run on his full weight, which he is unable to do.
As a result, Holmes will begin training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list. This will create opportunities for such heavyweights as Joseph Collins, Marcus Davis, Clyde Gates, Vidal Hazelton, Thomas Mayo, Ben Obomanu, Zach Rogers, Titus Ryan, Ryan Spadola, K.J. Stroud, and Jordan White. The only two "locks" right now are Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill.
My preferred roster would include Kerley, Hill, Obomanu, Rogers, and Gates. I like Obomanu's experience, Rogers' intelligence and route-running, and Gates' speed. What about you? Just please, do not suggest Braylon Edwards. I think we all know how I feel about him.
