New York Jets Flight Connections 05-03-13

Daily links to articles about the NFL's New York Jets.

Aloha Friday, Gang Green Gangsters! Am I just me, or was it not a great relief to find out that the Jets who were arrested and cut were not DeMario Davis and David Harris? Anyway, here are your links for today...

Ben Shpigel: Mark Sanchez says that he is cool with the quarterback competition.

Manish Mehta: Sanchez expects to beat out Geno Smith.

Brian Costello: Sanchez wore a headband during interviews. I've heard that he may be growing his hair to donate it to cancer patients. I don't know if it's true, but I don't know that any reporter actually looked into it.

James Walker: Swagger and confidence is the key for Sanchez.

Kristian Dyer: David Garrard has his own designs on winning the quarterback competition.

J.P. Pelzman: Garrard is confident that he can be the starting quarterback.

J.P. Pelzman: Catching up with Matt Simms.

NYJets.com: "Jets Talk Live" with Chris Ivory.

NYJets.com: "Jets Talk Live" with Mike Goodson.

NYJets.com: Walk with the New York Jets to cure lupus. It might be a good chance for a meet-up.

Kimberley A. Martin: The offensive line changes are just as key.

Randy Lange: Quinton Coples is expanding into a defensive multi-tool.

The Jets Blog: Coples as the edge rusher.

NF:.com: Coples and Dion Jordan represent new trends.

NY Jets Draft: Which draft selections earned an A?

UT San Diego: Team owners and insurance firms are misleading the public.

Yahoo!: The Oakland Raiders' trade for Carson Palmer wasn't nearly as bad as some claim.

Press-Citizen: Nate Kaeding will retire from the NFL.

Pro Football Talk: John Abraham visited the Tennessee Titans.

OSN: Tim Tebow is just sitting by himself in a darkened Florida Gators football stadium.

This is not football-specific, but this Deadspin article looks into a relationship between a sports writer and the team he covers.

And lastly, I would just like to say rest in peace to Jeff Hanneman, one of the best guitar players ever. I used to listen to Slayer all the time so it was pretty shocking and sad to find out that he has passed. I thought it was pretty cool that their singer was of Chilean descent and their drummer was of Cuban descent. Anyways, when I was in film school studying post-production, we had a project where we had to edit found footage to music, so of course, I selected Slayer. Here it is for those interested:
