ProFootballRosters has a wonderful chart in which they show how the New York Jets have been assembled for the upcoming 2013 season, which you can check out here. There are a few things that I wanted to point out:
- The vast majority of players on the roster are young, or at the very least, new to the team, with nearly 70% having joined the team in the past two years.
- The team seems to be planning on heavily relying on undrafted free agents to increase competition, as they have added more to the roster from the current year than they have on the roster, in total, from the past seven years combined. Most of them will not make the team, but there appears to be a better chance for them to make the roster than in the past few years.
- In particular, the team has added a significant number of players at wide receiver and offensive line. The competition will be fierce this year at those two positions.
Is there anything in particular that stands out to you about how the team has been assembled?
