Two Former Jets Busted For Marijuana Possession

John Idzik rules with an iron fist!

Rich Cimini had an interesting note today

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Former Jets Defensive end Claude Davis and cornerback Cliff Harris were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana Monday in Morristown, N.J., Steve Sarinelli of the Morristown police department told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

It was less than 50 grams of marijuana, according to Sarinelli. They were released without bail.

The Jets had no comment. The players, both of whom signed reserve/future contracts in January, were waived on Tuesday.

So they were arrested on Monday night, and then released on Tuesday. This is pretty much John Idzik saying ' You come here to play, you stray then your shot is gone'. Regardless of your thoughts on marijuana, it is completely stupid for players who are on the fringe of the team to be caught out in public with illegal substances on them. They also had a passenger in the back seat who was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon - a loaded handgun with a single hollow point round.

We didn't lose much cutting these guys, however they could have lost their chance at a shot for a roster spot. It's much idiotic. Well done Idzik for kicking them straight to the curb the moment they stepped out of line.
