We have been saying for quite some time that it would be a while before GM John Idzik could "put his stamp" on the front office. By that we meant that Idzik would not fire scouts and members of the front office in the days leading up to the draft, because there was too little time to replace them. However, today, Brian Costello reports:
Jets are not renewing the contracts of asst. director of college scouting Mike Davis and area scout Joe Bommarito, per sources. #nyj

This is just the beginning, I suspect. More members of the front office (Terry Bradway, if you're listening, start packing up your stuff) will be let go soon. Now that Idzik has had an opportunity to evaluate his staff, he can begin replacing them with his "own" guys to make his mark on the team truly felt.
Update:
On scouting dept. shake up, source tells me, "Pay attention, I'm sure there will be more changes." #Jets
