A Nice Curtis Martin Tribute

Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

Curtis Martin rocks. I think we can all agree on that. The great Jets blog One Jet at a Time has a nice tribute up for the Hall of Fame running back.

Quickly, our New York Jets touched base with Curtis’s agent and set up a contract that would be very difficult for the Patriots to match. This opened the door for Curtis to join the Jets and his former coach, Bill Parcells. In his first seven seasons with the Jets, Martin missed only one game and was selected to the Pro Bowl three times.

Whatever you think of Mike Tannenbaum, that contract was his crowning achievement. When Martin was a restricted free agent, Tannenbaum used a loophole in the rules to draw up a contract that was favorable for the Jets yet would have made matching into a nightmare for the Patriots.

You can never have too much Curtis Martin love so go read that article.
